Is there something that you've dreamed of doing for a long time?
Why haven't you done it? Do you have a plan to do it?
What is holding you back from immediately doing it?

yes, i want to found a shelter for abused women and children who could benefit from equine therapy. why haven't i done it and why not do it right away? money! i have none. in fact i may lose my home. so... nope, no plan to do it.

g

Aren't "equines" horses? Horses are expensive....why not substitute dogs and cats?

@nicknotes substitute them in my dreams? because i haven't got the money to buy the land, build or operate the facility -- if i did, i think horses would be fine. meanwhile, equine therapy is very specialized. it is difficult to ride a dog or cat.

g

Sometimes you have to be willing to compromise to fulfill your dreams. Hamster therapy might even be cheaper and require less space. Keep your eye on the goal...to provide shelter and therapy....@genessa

@nicknotes yes, and until the shelter part is possible it doesn't matter what imaginary therapy there is. but i am specifically devoted to equine therapy. i mean, you may as well tell me, if my dream were to be a dentist, to go into podiatry. it's not the same thing. no, providing shelter and any old therapy is not my dream. providing shelter and equine therapy, not randomly chosen therapy, is my dream. compromise is one thing. letting someone edit my dream, already well beyond reach for reasons that have nothing to do with the type of therapy involved, is a bit crazy.

g

OK go for it....but I imagine raising horses is a hard endeavor @genessa

@nicknotes not as hard as getting the money to establish the entity to begin with. it would be a proper foundation, not a one-woman job. i would have paid employees. but again... it's a dream and it's never going to happen. i don't buy lottery tickets.

g

Don't give up...it could happen. @genessa

@nicknotes i always have it at the back of my mind but i'm 67 next month, i'm broke, i'm sick and... well it would take a miracle and i don't believe in miracles. but it's always there, nonetheless.

g

You can always find another dream that you can accomplish. @genessa

@nicknotes think about that for a moment. you're telling someone you don't even know to change her dream. just ponder that.

g

Of course you are free to do whatever you like....I just offered a suggestion...@genessa

skydiving. but I need to pack my own chute or watch someone do it. they probably won't allow that and I'm not risking some idiot messing up the chute

That could be dangerous after 60 You could break a leg.

@nicknotes but 59 is ok? 🙂 my fear of falling is the biggest problem. It's lasted my whole life and isn't going away

It might be prudent to get professional advice before jumping out of an airplane. It could be dangerous. @lerlo
