There have been several questions along these lines lately, so I want to ask a related, but slightly different question:
What “thing,” either concrete or abstract, do you hold to be of the highest value, above all else?
I have a bracelet that was given to me by my daughter for fathers day around 25 years ago. Its very sentimental and although its cheap it's the most valuable thing I own. I never take it off.
I can understand that, like I said in a different post I like chocolate milk when my daughter was four or five she brought or sent away for the Nestle quik bunny spoon I still have it and use it daily.?
Since I am a humanist and also like multifaceted answers, I'd say that which does the most good for humanity.
Empathy.
@Donotbelieve Thank you. It is a defining aspect of me, at least I hope that it is.
The spirit that is me. Free speech. Honesty. Kindness
It is to be consciously aware, which enables us to appreciate love, joy and freedom, and to bask in the overwhelming mystery and grandeur of reality.
After a pivotal even 25 years ago my values changed. As I learn they keep changing. Right now it is to learn my negative effects on our life support system and to do what I can to lower it. It is to care and to be more proactive.
