I just realized why Trump's Helsinki meeting with Putin was so long. Could you imagine trying to translate Trump into Russian? And imagine the terrified Russian interpreter looking at Putin and saying, "I swear that's what he said!".
I reckon the interpreter would have also acted as a filter. Let's face it, the actual content of any Donald Trump speech is usually about one sentence. And a short one at that. There would have been lots of the Russian equivalent of 'yada yada yada, bullshit bullshit bullshit, me me me' going on.
