Trump says the Caravans are full of disease. It's interesting that the Cato Institute AKA Koch brothers libertarian think-tank has published this difference of opinion.[cato.org]
Having a high vaccination rate is another reason we need to have a national health care plan.
Despite tRumps usual blatherings there is some truth to this but not here (yet). Parts of Europe are experiencing increasing rates of measles and other infectious diseases [bbc.com] Our Pharmacy has a map of spreading infectious diseases in the world and many developed countries are seeing increases. The cause has been the assimilation of people from countries with low vaccination rates. Remember, this is about policies not people!
Not the only reason. One of the main reasons is the anti-vaccination movement and the belief that vaccines are produced from raw eggs making them unacceptable to some communities.
@Amisja I totally agree and this only adds to the problem. Maybe there's an anti-vaccination virus going around.
Many of the Central American countries have a form of socialized medicine. Gasp! In order to avoid epidemics the population have a high vaccination rate. But leprosi aka Hansen's disease a disease that was mentioned by an extreme right wing fear monger, has not been found among the refugees.
