WHAT'S YOUR ONE THING? --

A lot of people have a bucket list of things they'd like to do before they die: skydive, travel to (destination), meet a personal hero, etc... But, if push comes to shove, what is the ONE thing over all else you'd like to see, try, have, or experience?

And explain why it's most important.

There are so many things I would love to see/do in my lifetime! Being so young I (hopefully) will have enough time to get to most of those things. The top of my list would be to see a candidate who’s campaign I worked for become President. The second would be to make it to New York Fashion Week.....and to own a Chanel 2.55

See us (humanity) become a truly spacefaring species.

Sadly, I would not advise holding your breath.

I have always thought of doing a bike ride from Portland, OR to Kennebunkport, ME. As a second, I have also thought of hiking the Pacific Crest Trail.

I would love to work in the government in DC. It would have to be a non elective back end role, I think it would be cool to work on making things better for people. No fame, just working in the guts of the beast.

Visit US Bank Stadium to see the Vikings 🙂

It's important because I bleed purple, have seen them 3 times and travelled over 10,000 miles in the process but haven't seen the new stadium 🙂

I want to visit evey continent. Cliche right?

See Trump thrown out of office

To end suddenly quickly and painlessly, and be found dead sitting in my seat in front of a cafe, in warm sun on the sea front, with an empty glass on the table.

Yes.

Vote for a Republican candidate. It will show how far our country has evolved that there should one day, be a candidate of the GOP, that I could possibly support with my vote. That would truly be some kind of miracle.

I know just what you mean. Sadly, I don't foresee it anytime soon. The whole party has lost its mind.

I would very much like to see the end of the imperialistic, death-worshiping idiocracy of Islam. This could happen if the regressive left were to encourage apostasy or conversion to more life-affirming doctrines, instead of encouraging and facilitating Islam's propagation.

Please think carefully before issuing a "whataboutist" response. I have seen/heard them all.

I don’t pretend to have the right to ‘convert’ anyone or criminalize their belief systems.(That’s different than say, enforcing our laws when violated because certain behaviors are criminal).
Much like nobody has the right to force me to do, profess, change myself, or believe anyone else about anything. I make up my own mind and I reap whatever consequences I earn. So should we all.

Maybe I’m just having a bad day online, but what gives with the presumption that because one thinks, no knows, that THEY/THEIR IDEAS are correct and others ought to follow along?!

@CarolinaGirl60 I wish you the best, and hope that your day improves.

Please consider Islam's directive to its adherents to subvert elected government and establish Sharia in its place. Such a campaign by any other ideology would be regarded as Treason, a prosecutable offense.

BTW I am not advocating criminalization of the ideology, which masquerades as, and usurps the advantages of a "religion" My wish is that the regressive left would stop encouraging and facilitating its propagation.

And I have heard all of the ignorant rednecks that I need to hear in my life decades ago.

@Sticks48 No need to do any thinking then.

@PBuck0145 As if you have any idea of what thinking even consists of. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Good one!

@K9Kohle789 I agree there. Move here: follow our laws or pay the price. Not because they are Muslim but because they committed a crime in this country. Religion is never an excuse. IMHO.

@K9Kohle789, @PBuck0145 Thank you, it’s getting better. Finally!

Xtians may not be as overtly violent, by our standards, yet many of them adamantly prosletize and ‘spread the Truth’. Catholics have destroyed entire native cultures. Extremist xtians are willing to take rights from women/lgbt etc. The worst among them kill, like abortion clinic bombers. There’s little reasoning with them either, I’m related to evangelicals and mostly, I’m an outcast in my ‘sinful’ ways!
All religious delusion needs to be gone, but it never will.

Go back to Florence.
Last time I went with my family, to visit family there, but I was 12.
really want to go back there as an adult. It is a beautiful place.

I’ve been to Egypt(cruised on the Nile, hot-air balloon over Valley of the Kings); Italy, Greece, UK, Mexico and Belize. Plus around 19 states.
But.
I want to be, live and in person, in Montreal for a Formula 1 race. Because it’s just sexy, and I want to experience the roar of engines, watch the speed.

The race in Montreal is amazing. I used to drive there when I lived in NY. Definitely a good one

@AlexRam My ex was/is an amateur racer. That’s where I picked up my need for speed?. I don’t want to try driving that fast, but I’ve gotten to go laps as a passenger on various east coast tracks, and it’s exhilarating.

@CarolinaGirl60 Yes I have been to many races in Austin, Indy when it was there 2000-2005, Spa, Silverstone, Monza, Singapore etc. Love the trip and my kids love tagging along. I have not done Monaco, that one is on my Bucket list.

@AlexRam that would be the extra, Monaco. When I was in Rome, visited a Ferrari museum in the airport where one could buy parts from previous winners’ F1 cars...assuming one had LOTS of money! I did bring a pair of black leather driving gloves home for the ex.

See Arsenal play at the Emirates. I supported them at Highbury in the '60's. Get a tattoo. My son and his fiancé are covered in tatts and I feel left out.

1

Italy.
Because, Italy.

Italy is beautiful. I hope you go!

My answer is somewhat the same.

@CarolinaGirl60 Thank you, I hope I go, too.

Go to Green Melanesia - an island off Northern Australia, to visit Cassius, a saltwater croc that holds the record for largest and oldest in captivity, at over 16ft, and 114yrs old !
And while I'm down under, also see the Australia Zoo and hang out with Teri Irwin.

See my children happy

Get my old death metal band back together for one last gig. Just for the entertainment value of watching a bunch of mid 40's metal heads put their backs out simultaneously.

You are ace

@Amisja awww, ta!

There are various things on my list of things I hope to get to, but nothing on my list of things I yearn to get to. And I think that's a good thing. I could have "the big one" right now and go down to the floor gasping my last without saying, shit, I didn't do X yet. Or I left Y unsaid. Or I should have done Z. That, to me, is the only way to live.

Spend a month in Australia.

That's where I'd like to actually die. I've been in the UK for nigh on 15 years, but my bones are still definitely antipodean. I'd like to shuffle of this mortal coil lying on a beach, with the sun on my old bones, salt in my nose and the sound of wind in the sheoaks.

@MrBeelzeebubbles I don't like the cold either so I am moving myself to a warmer beach area soon...I have been to Australia once but as a child...I want to go as an adult to appreciate the natural beauty and many animals and plants...I know so many people from this site as well as other social media that seem like great people to hang with as well...I am not sure a month is enough time for it all...I hope I can go in 2020. Perhaps I will see you on the beach! lol

Go to Paris

I want to see the light on the buildings and on the Seine. I also speak French a bit. That’s ok if they don’t speak English.

I actually loved Paris...I learned basic French phrases and found a translator app for my Ipad...when you try, I think the French are quite lovely and helpful...the museums alone are worth the trip...I say go for it!

@thinktwice That’s what my parents and siblings found. If you try to speak French and you’re polite, they step in and are helpful.

@Sydland They actually resent that Americans are arrogant enough to think everyone should adapt and speak English...I found the same to be true in Montreal...a few words and effort and humbling apologies for poor pronunciation go a long way. But, to be fair...there are assholes in every country in the world and you might just run into some...don't let it deter you or else you wouldn't go anywhere!
