So, I am seeking a way to merge my aptitude for science with my passion for social justice and addressing inequity in America. I know I can’t do it alone. That is why I am hoping that finding like minded people, community organizers, with various backgrounds and resources that can facilitate my journey. There are many barriers and consequences for going against the status quo.

Any suggestions?

Something along the lines of how poor communities (often of POC) are more likely to have heavy industry, toxic waste dumps & coal mines nearby, exposing the residents to higher levels of toxins & carcinogens?

Network as much as possible. Pick you battles and focus your efforts on the ones you can influence. No not argue with irrational reactionaries. Prove them wrong with real, understandable facts, and let it go.

I am not aware of any differences in science and social justice that needs to be merged. Enlighten me.

He was talking about merging his aptitude and passion not science and social justice.
