How do you feel about Brussel Sprouts?

My former mother-in-law gave me a recipe. She was from E. Germany and told me the reason we are referred to as Krauts is because we know how to serve them. I love them but the price keeps going higher and higher.

Love. Roasted with olive oil, salt, pepper with bacon and walnuts or with a balsamic reduction.

I love brussel sprouts and I even got my son to love them too. I will either steam them in boiling water and lots of butter or, my favorite is to roast them in the oven with olive oil and salt and pepper until they have crispy leaves on the outside and moist yet firm insides. They have a great nutty taste and my son loves them too. I also love to sautee them in olive oil and butter until they are tender crisp adding s&p, red pepper flake and even some garlic (be careful it burns easily). These flavors are awesome! Love it!

Love them. You can buy them sliced now and fry them but I will eat them cooked by any method

Hate 'em. Won't eat 'em.
You can have my share.

Love them with butter.

Brussels sprouts are best if you soak them in distilled water and a splash of lemon juice. Soak overnight. Drain well by putting them up in a salad spinner. Toss in olive oil, salt, pepper, and minced fresh garlic. Roast in an oven at 400 degrees. 20 minutes.

They are one of my favorite veggies! Broiled or grilled only, though.

Mostly in bubble 'n squeek.

Americans might not understand,.

Fried sprouts and potatoes.

Never heard of that til now but will certainly look it up and try it.

My mother-in-laws recipe was to parboil them quickly. Drain the water and sauté them in butter til they are a little chard all around. Grate a little fresh nutmeg and then about 1/4 cup white wine and cover until the wine has boiled out, a couple of minutes. This has never failed to impress guests.

Stealing this one too

Just the smell of them cooking makes me ill.

I like them with pepper.

Love them now, as a kid not so much.

Do you fit the cartoon?

@JackPedigo Oh, gosh NO!! Kids for the most part are alot smarter than adults give them credit for. Just look at some of the creeps saying the Florida teens were emotionally hijacked by far left anti-gun people. NO kids are smart and if you let them free think and educate them in empathy, humanist views, without hate, etc. they find their likes and dislikes.

@silverotter11 But also our tastes change over time. Kids are also influenced by peers. I think if some admired kid started liking some food the others would follow (pizza with Brussel Sprouts - yum?)

I like them, too. 😀

I got along with them ok...until my ex singed them one time. My, my...the stench! And that was the end of that.

Guinea fowl breast (or leg) with roast potatoes (roasted in the guinea fowl fat - fluffy on the inside and crunchy on the outside), baby carrots and sprouts. Sprouts need to be boiled to death with a little lemon juice, salt and sugar.

Hey, if there's a hell guys, can we meet up there?

Germans have the worst food.

Actually, that honor goes to the British. It's so bad that most of their restaurants are Indian.

I spelled worst with a 'u' but my phone keeps changing it. I guess phone has no sense of humor.

Yuck, horrible

I used to love them as a kid. Not so much anymore. My taste buds must have changed.

Love broiled Brussels, a little olive oil, salt and pepper.
Kraut is German for cabbage and Germans eat a lot of sauerkraut.... sour cabbage. Make mine Silver Floss.
