Take Komen off of the list. Remember when they had the anti-PP Board member who was forced to resign? There are much more progressive organizations that support women's health.
But...if they forced them to resign, why take them off the list?
@AnneWimsey Because the people that put them on the board in the first place are still there. And if they were that clueless, one can question just what Komen really is. There are a whole host of better alternatives.
@Mitch07102 was there a litmus test for them to get appointed?
I cannot suggest this app more!
thanks
Yes, Thanks!! I just installed it on my cell phone.
I do vote with my $ too. For variety of reasons, not only religion. Starbucks is one of them. I also support causes I think are important. For emergency relief I choose organizations that will not consider Bibles, prayers, and thoughts as relief.
I disagree. What you are sayin is "I'm afraid voting is a thing of the past".
A pretty good list...there are a few I don't support for other issues...you have to pick your battles
I must vote against Exxon Mobile for their conspiracy to deny climate change. I don't support any bank listed, Johnson & Johnson for contaminated baby powder, Verizon for their part in opposing net neutrality, Ford for their neglect in doing research on battery technology, and possibly most of the others for conspiracy to raise prices and reduce wages; thereby, forcing their employees to use social services, such as food stamps.
If we let our political system be corrupted by special interest we will have no good choices as conscious consumers. We all have buy gas, food, coffee. And whatever people buy at Wal-Mart.
