I'm a bit perturbed this morning by friends posting about being blessed by God for the things they have. It seems so egotistical to say that this almighty being particularly picked you for these things while ignoring the kids with cancer and the people starving and struggling. Why can't they just be proud of themselves and the work they did to get there? Is it because we look down on pride but it's ok if its religious pride? Very frustrating.
That really gets me when they interview survivors of natural disasters. It's like all the people who died must have been evil so god didn't worry about them.
When someone says that, and I'm in a particularity contentions mood, I then ask them, "So when things start going bad for you or your family, does that mean you are being cursed by God?"
And then you get that glare meaning "I don't understand what you mean "
Maybe it’s just a way to acknowledge our oneness with nature and to express joy.
Pretty sure it's just bragging by thanking .
I was passing by again and my non serious and evil self made me stop again.
Bless you my child and hallelujah, howdy, and ohm.
Logic is not one of their strengths! Don’t even try to figure out why they think like they do.
It is illogical and hard to digest. I throw a line or two questioning them sometimes, but most likely my rational comments go nowhere, just responded with a glazed stare.
Example: thank god I got a vasectomy.
I say: thank the doctors, science and technology for that. God gave you sperms.
It goes well with a capricious bastard of an Abrahanic god who can do anything but won't.
Well said, I do not get that either. The athletes especially drive me nuts when they bring that up.
@Bierbasstard you made my day!!!! I wish an atheist in disguise would throw that out there for giggles.
@Bierbasstard Totally agree. They thank the lord for all the good shit only
I love how they praise jesus when they win, when they lose, they blame the refs.
