Based on? Has it made us safer? From what? No border county sheriff is claiming we have a crisis at the border. Your comment is more a reflection about you. Midwesterners and southerners 1,000s miles away are the fearful ones. That's because change is scary. And brown people scare them.

False equivalency and doesn't address the issue. You want a wall across the entire border that has already proved ineffective where it exists. Movement north has dwindled compared to pre 2008 levels and much earlier, but now it's a crisis? Please. Also, have you heard about tunnel science and the technological application?. You may not have because tunnels are relatively new. Ladder technology is slightly newer. Walls have never stopped anything. Don't even try to use the Great Wall of China as a use case. The Manchus still invaded the Ming's after the wall was built and replaced Ming with Qing. Ming paid a heavy price for a wall that didn't stop the very thing it had intended. Border protection is not about immigration. It's kind of sort of about drugs, but drugs will always find a way. It's not even about a random jihadi looking to get in. It's about fear. For instance, you fall for marketing because it works. Fear us peddled the same way and are scared about something that won't impact you. Ask yourself why you're overly concerned about something that doesn't impact you. If you come up with an anecdotal reason why it impacts, keep it to yourself because anecdotal evidence has no place here or anywhere else.
