As a kid, I found Mr. Rogers to be insipid and boring with an unrealistic view of what society actually was.

I sobbed my way through this movie - it really moved me and rugged on my heartstrings. The first clips in the first 10 minutes about a wall to keep out the “changers” is prophetic. He was a good man. We need more Fred Rogers.

I saw this in a sold out theatre and every single person was weeping by the end. Something about that voice

I watched a bit of it, and the clip they included from Fox News saying he was an evil (evil!) man for telling children they are special, thus making them lazy and entitled (and maybe liberal?), left me dismayed.

His show was produced here, with the neighbor hood being based on Pittsburgh Neighborhoods. I know numerous people for the show. The world could use more Fred.

Very true indeed and he was one of the first to bridge a lot of social gaps. Especially back when it was very unpopular to do so.
So yeah he was just a really good human being just wish more of us had actually learned something from him.
