Not complaining, nor campaigning for change, simply making an observation about this online meeting place.
The term "Agnostic" is seemingly a softer, gentiler, and perhaps a disingenuous, way of saying Atheist, because, saying one does not believe in a supernatural, invisible, all powerful, being unless verifiable, reliable, and convincing, evidence can be presented is exactly what a true Atheist is.
Yet, there are many here that claim to believe in such a supernatural being, at least to a percentage. Which begs the question, why are they here?
Anyone care to speculate on why a "Believer" would join an Atheist site?
I am neither an atheist nor a believer. I donโt think that belief is an appropriate emotion in the face of the overwhelming fact of our existence as conscious beings. No one understands Ultimate Reality. The only appropriate emotion as I see it is a sense of awe and wonder.
It makes not one bit of difference what word you use to label Ultimate Reality. If you want to say โGodโ, that is ok with me. โNatureโ works as well, or Universal Consciousness too.
The reason I like this forum is that there are a good many courageous and intelligent people here who have rejected shallow church dogmas and are full of stimulating thoughts and ideas.
