'Terrifying': Rapid Loss of Biodiversity Placing Global Food Supplies at Risk of 'Irreversible Collapse'
No one is concerned with food supply. The concern is about profits. Since we are now the product it shows that greed simply dictates how you increase the price of something once it becomes scarce. This is happening with food supplies as well and it has nothing to do with capitalism. They tell us that it does and that it's all "supply and demand" but they are doing nothing about the problem and justifying greed. Capitalism today is Pacman capitalism. This is pure greed!
I pay attention and do my little part. I am a protector, if every person became a protector it would be a start. It is sad to me that there are so many people, who can only believe in what is happening now...but the past destruction and future death of anything is going to threaten humanity in ways it knows not!
Seems like chicken-little style hyperbolic nonsense to me.
Since AOC has promised us that the world will be ending in 12 years due to climate change, why worry about something else? Let's have a grand 12 year party and then die! LOL
Seriously, without free market capitalism we would all live in poverty. The enemies of free market capitalism want to lead us to economic suicide, and I for one am not following their lead.
Agree with everything you said. Green New Deal, anyone? No thanks!
Soylant Green here we come. Funny thing I have been hearing we only have 10 years to take action for over 20 years (as time progresses the time span grows - in the late 90's it was only 5 years). If we haven't gotten it by now we never will.
You are right that the time has changed on who predicts this, however besides that, have you not noticed the huge change in weather patterns. Have you not noticed that there are way more earthquakes, tornadoes, fires, hurricanes and they are much stronger than ever before.
@Jolanta It's called Climate Change (except for the earthquakes but many of them are caused by the fracking industry. Everything is anthropogenic (human caused) and the more of us and the more activity, the worse things get. Luckily, for me and the residents in this county there are lots of small farms, temperate climate (still no tornadoes and hurricanes are rare in the west - they are called Typhoons) and an acute awareness of the importance of diversity and organic in food.
@JackPedigo Don't fool yourself. Your turn will come sooner than you think.
This is the hell our grandchildren will be trying to deal with. Heartbreaking....
