For the record: I HATE Daylight Savings Time!!!
"Only a white man would believe that you could cut a foot off the top of a blanket and sew it to the bottom of a blanket and have a longer blanket."
I think DST should be banned!
I'm not really bothered by it, in some respects it marks the start of spring (Yay) but the end of autumn (Boo) But it doesn't make a whole bunch of sense really, I mean just move your own base time by 1/2 an hour. In the UK during the war we had something called British Double Summer Time! #ffs, but I've never understood why we can't just have GMT +1/2, would the world stop spinning if did it?
I hate NOT being on daylight savings time. But I do not have an hour to lose this weekend?
Yes it seems that businesses and events that need to occur during daylight or darkness could adjust their start and end time according to the season.
We don't have daylight savings time here in Hawaii, but some events, such as luaus, have a later start time in the summer. Me, with my weddings occuring usually the hour before sunset, the time is specific to each event usually rounded off to the nearest 15 minutes or half hour. Most everything else is business as usual.
When the majority of the country goes on daylight savings time, my cable TV shows come on an hour earlier, folks call me an hour earlier, waking me up due to a 3-6 hour time difference, and all kinds of inconveniences. Seems silly to me.
I agree, 1000%. I bitch and moan every year, twice a year.
@Gwendolyn2018 I totally agree, Arizona does and their doing just fine.
So does Saskatchewan.
