Money CAN buy you happiness... If you're optimistic.... But if you're pessimistic... Most likely not... Cause no matter what you buy, you'll just see the negative aspects... Agree or disagree?

Agree for sure. Studies show people who do what they love make more money than people who don't!

I always joke that I'd like to be a test subject and find out for myself.

"Money CAN buy you happiness... If you're optimistic.... But if you're pessimistic"

Ah the forgotten beatitude...
How Blessed is the Pessimist for verily he shall never be disappointed.

My father has a particular maxim appropriate to this
"Money cannot buy happiness, but it makes miserly a hell of a lot more bearable."

seriously disagree. If you give anyone $1 million in the bank, that cloud of unknown dread goes away. a fool and his money are soon parted, but he will be a happy fool in the meantime.

Money can buy happiness because it can buy therapy for the pessimistic.

It can't buy happiness, but it can definitely take a lot of stress out of life.

1

money can't buy everything. it can't buy poverty.

Only partially agree. In and of itself money can't make you happy but having enough money relieves the stress of having to make enough money to live. So money buys relief from a certain amount of stress, Stress makes one unhappy so relief from stress brings with it a certain degree of greater happiness.

Agree. I follow Tevye's philosophy, this from The Fiddler on the Roof:

Perchik:
Money is the world's curse.

Tevye:
May the Lord smite me with it. And may I never recover.

Money isn't even the issue when it comes to happiness. If you're happy you don't have to buy it, and if you're not happy you're not going to get it that way.

I think if your a negative person you will find some excuse for your unhappiness no matter what your circumstances.

no ive seen rich people commit suicide and people with only the clothes there standing in happy as fuck

Nope..

It depends on what makes you happy. It could buy me everything I want except a woman, and it would make her a hell of a lot easier to find, as I could focus all my energy on that one goal.

Well, money can't buy happiness but it sure helps a lot.

in some cases it can rent it.

Money seems to me to be irrelevant regarding happiness. Having had it and not had it it’s a mindset rather than a conditioned reflex. Maslow’s Hierarchy Of Needs is a good model although not universal I would suggest. My observation, however, is the more you have, the more there is to lose, so more to protect and the stress and emotional discomfort of fear of losing.

I'd rather have the money, and find out from there.

I think it can buy temporary happiness. The underlining problem that making you sad will come to the surface eventually. You can find happiness in other areas of life that might last longer.
