My son the rock star, iHeart Music 2019 Best new Rock/Alternative Rock Artist. The photo on the left is just after they and two other artists performed on stage, on the right is my son hoisting the award statue. He was also nominated for best alternative rock song, best alternative rock artist, and best rock artist.

I am happy for his success and proud of the work it took to earn it.

Congrats on the win, but they got best new alt. rock artist?? They sound more like a pop band to me. Kind of like Maroon 5, only with a lot more talent.

Considering they’re all over mainstream radio, I’m kind of wondering what they’re the alternative to. Haven’t heard Lovelytheband even once on the indie station here in Denver.

Old me who listens to jazz has no idea🙂

Alt Nation plays them quite a bit on XM Sirius.

@Zster

Well.... it’s SiriusXM. so go figure. I dumped satellite radio years ago when Sirius and XM merged and the whole thing went straight down the toilet. Those idiots who run that place actually think that Poison and Bon Jovi are power metal bands. Tells you everything you need to know right there.

We actually have a pretty decent indie rock station here in Denver on terrestrial radio which is run by NPR, so if I’m not listening to Pandora or Tidal, that’s my go to.

@Anniemae

KBCO is still somewhat listenable, but it’s not nearly as good as it used to be before it got bought out by Satan... er.... Clear Channel. I switched over to KJAC and KUNC. Much more variety, and a lot of artists you’ll never hear on commercial radio.
