Being sick, recovering from surgery, being hyper without the ability to let off some steam. All I have is an old fart that loves you and does not have the ability for sex, or a gay boyfriend. Sorry, I guess I am not that helpful on matters like these.

Your thinking of this wrong. Going by the criteria of a boyfriend who will leave you alone, every guy not talking to you technically qualifies as your boyfriend.
To keep my end of this up I promise to miss all your birthdays, holidays, and whatever day our "anniversary" is.

"Been on THESE dating siteS" as in, multiple various ones.
I don't see people using this site as a dating one, myself was here just for the discussions, but in the end found an amazing woman while not looking for XD.
But good luck, as far as i see the average age is a lot higher than yours also.
A tip would be looking into the local groups around you.

Well.... Dating sites are only a way of having contacts. what you will do with them is about your choice.
Maybe too picky, maybe low quality of candidates around, maybe would be fun to risk more, maybe....
TBH I live in a place so remote that even if I was looking for there is no one around, so I cannot help with tips XD
