Being agnostic or any other ideology is alright. Until we don't make it a religion. These days, people become believers, and that's the only important problem I see. When someone start believing in anything. That guy will become blind, he/she won't seek for truth but only seeking for prove he/she is right cause he/she believes .... .
Agnostic or Atheist could be different, they could be more wise which stay calm and doing what they do, seeking for truth and not just fighting with others because they didn't like what we like.
I reached a point of understanding. Even though I had much discussion with religious people, and they didn't understood me, but I understand that I don't have to destroy someone's hope in front of him. If someone has Hope in a stone, and he is not seeking for anything, and is not going to reach any point in his life. Just let him do what he do.
I live with religious people and I know that I am mostly trying to help them to understand more than their idols and stones. But when I think if we take their Hope then they will die without any hope. So I let them be what they like to be.
Even though I live in an absurd life but I won't force people to join me
quite frankly, for me this is a problem more with vegans than atheists or agnostics. most atheists and agnostics i know only get pushy (as well they should) when it comes to the separation of church and state. i see very few trying to "convert" believers into nonbelievers. vegans, on the other hand, are rarely satisfied to change their own views on food and such, but rather feel they have to convert others to their way of eating. i think that we are fooled into believing that atheists etc. make atheism etc. into a religion by two things: 1. evangelists of all sorts are louder than nonevangelists, so they give the impression of being more numerlous and powerful than they are, and 2. theists like to call atheism a religion and they're not quiet about that either. i am not horribly worried about it.

This question was put to a dozen PhD university science professors: “If it could be proven to you 100% that God exists would you worship him.” To a person they all said “no.” I found that a fascinating answer. I am going to mention a word that I suspect will drive you up a wall - “Sin”. There is a passage of the Bible which says (my paraphrase) “…where there is no law there is no sin.” “Sin” is the open rebellion to the values of the Creator of the universe and the giver of life. In my view the reason you and they don’t want to worship God or thank him is that you/they do not want to be held accountable for your sins. You like your worldview untouched. I can live with that.
What kind of values can the Creator have when there is so much suffering in the world? Innocent babies are suffering and dying every day. What moral, merciful creator would allow that?
The Bible is replete with references to the moral values of God. He is genocidal, homophobic, mysogynistic and murderous!
I take responsiblity for my "sins" against my fellow humans and society as a whole. I am contrite and make it right again in a sincere attempt to become a better person and make the world a better place. I do this because I know if a god does exist, he made this universe and wandered off to create another one leaving us here without any apparent help from him.
I’m mostly interested in changing my mind, not others.
Good thoughts! Yes you or I are probably NOT going "CONVERT" ANYONE that has spent most of their life believing something AND I don't want kick any props they have supporting them. My giant Websters unabridged defines religion as a system that one uses guide one's life. I'm a SCIENTIST, that means I use the Empirical method of supporting hypotheses (beliefs) the extent that they can be supported AND will renounce that theory if new information no longer supports it. essentially I KNOW nothing but have a big list of things that seem be be valid--so far. It might be wonderful know that there is an afterlife and that there is a reliable manual about how get there but so far I haven't found enough EMPIRICAL evidence support it. I CONSIDER THIS BE my RELIGION!

You said you are a scientist and rely on empirical evidence. Here is my question: please give me one example of one kind becoming another kind - Darwinian evolution. I’m not talking about speciation, or mutation
Religion is a form of drug to some people, and if they stopped it they would need another drug to take its place.

We both know you are repeating the same talking points other atheists have stated. I give you more data to consider:
Richard Dawkins – “Evolution in its rawest is incredibly cruel.”
Mao Zedong - 78 million
Hitler - 17 million
Pol Pol - 9 million
United States of America - 53 million abortions 1973-2011 After 2011 average number of abortions per year is 750,000. Currentlly, there is an attempt to legislate the killing of born infants. Next will come the killing of elderly.
I am sure you have noticed that the primary worldview of those who oppose abortions are those in the Bible- believing community.
I see it like this. All people, both the god believer and the atheist, are all seekers of the truth. The difference between them is god believers rely on faith to find their truth. Atheists rely on evidence and logic, reason, to find the truth.
Faith fosters a closed mind because they claim they have the answers. Atheists should have a mind open to new evidence and subject to change (improving).
Losing one’s religion or faith does not mean they will lose hope. They are only losing their delusions and gaining a better understanding of reality based on evidence. The hope an atheist has is grounded in fact and understanding.

“We take the side of science in spite of the patent absurdity of some of its constructs…because we have a prior commitment, a commitment to materialism… Moreover, that materialism is absolute, for we cannot allow a Divine Foot in the door.”
I agree with the let them be. Though I will respond to the religious with my points of view, with respect. Unless I am in a peeved mood by someone, then I post it without care of getting somebody upset. There is something to say about false hopes as well as false belief.
