I love how socially progressive the Dutch are. How does the U.S. still claim to be "the best country in the world"?

I think that is a great piece of social engineering, but kind of ironic. Because at the assisted living facility that my father lives in, located in a university town, almost all the direct care staff are college students. They don't live there, but they are a bit like an extended family for the residents, which is what the Dutch program is giving them, as well as neighbors.

Our halcyon days in the United States ended in the late 1970’s, and the slip into oligarchy and mediocrity really began in the late 1960’s. It was all down hill after the Kennedy presidency came to a tragic end.

Although I would contend we are actually a plutocracy.
