So I am a member of a group on Facebook for Dessert storm vets (Yes Pacifist vet here) And this guy makes a post saying lets pray for America because god can make it right. Lets just say I chimed in and no matter what I said God is good. This guys even said at one point that all the soldiers over there died because God decided it was their time to go. I just hate ignorance God does not create wars Man Creates Wars
I agree with you.
There aren’t any gods in war!
My family has a dessert storm after we eat at the Golden Coral.
God is a great deflection and/or rationalization for many. It allows them to not confront any uncomfortable reality or to personally accept any untoward thinking.
I agree with that statement it was The war that made me question the reality of God in the first place
@DavidGreen1 - I was never a big theist. By school my belief had been minimal. Over the past few decades an incredible amount of the world violence centered around religion. Very odd-considering what is preached.
I'm not a vet, but imagine that if I were, I would feel like the sacrifice I made and the risks I took were being pissed all over because this implies I was just some fungible commodity, another body who just obediently puppeted his way through the war and survived or not because of the whim of some sky wizard.
I would throw a wrench in that logic with "If someone decided to commit suicide did God decide it was their time to go?"
I did my best to convince him but you know how brainwashed they can be
