This is a direct result of Trump recognising the occupied Golan heights as Israeli territory and recognising Jerusalem as the Israeli seat of government. Now Netanyahu promises to annex all the disputed settlements into Israel.
This is the same US that condemns Russia's annexation of the Crimea, or does Donald condone that also?

I think Trump is guessing that the stalemate has gone on too long and if he approves putting an end to it by encouraging the Israelis to occupy all of Palestine, the result will gradually be accepted by Palestinians and the rest of the world.

A very dubious supposition. The Jews remembered the land of Canaan for 2000 years. Ethnically they are Palestinians. Why therefore think the present Palestinians would forget? Thet won't.
I'm not suggesting they will. I'm trying to guess Trump's thinking.
