Can a man be friends with a woman without it being sexual?
A man would have no choice, but to be friends with me without having sex. I have total control that. And if I'm in a relationship with someone already, it's just him and only him @Marcel3405
I'm surrounded by men that most women would take their panties off for and sleep with at first sight. Not once have I ever had sexual thoughts about them. Never gonna happen.
They are my wingmen, my comrades, my brothers in arms; whom I have the utmost respect for.
I don't stay friends or keep in touch with any of my exes. Well, except for my sons' father. That will change soon. We are cordial, but after our youngest turns eighteen years-old, I am not obligated to talk to him. If he decides to call me to talk or ask about ours sons (assuming he can't reach them on their phones), I'll talk, but it would be briefly.
That's just who I am. No one has the right to judge me. No one knows my history with the ex or why I am how I am with people from my past. I am happier this way. I like to get rid of as much stress as possible from my life.
If you are not serving a purpose in my life other than just being a memory in my past, I don't need to keep you around. Unless you are motivating me and inspiring me, stay.
Thanks for all the good answers, I have been married for 52 years, and my wife has always wondered why I have more lady friends then men, and I tell her as a man, I don't sometimes trust men, i feel woman can trust me, as well as I do them. I run a business, where many of my men customers want me to fix them up with my lady customers(its a Dry Cleaning business) just so they can get laid. For me a woman can be a friend, and not a sexual object, i just feel more comfortable with women then men, but i do have many men friends, but their married and loyal, not players.
Maybe. Depends on the man.
As with pretty much ALL of life, NOTHING is black/white.
Silly question. No one can parse any useful information from the answers.
I have a great friend, Jennifer, for the past 20+ years. We decided a long time ago that we didn't want to risk losing our friendship by sleeping together. That doesn't stop us from flirting so I guess, in that sense, it is sexual. But she is married and I have her and her husband down... Or her by herself. We have never had sex... Though we have talked about it and even joked about it. We never would now, obviously, as she is married.
Yes, of course.
Some are also very good at hiding the fact that they're constantly thinking about having sex with you.
True, and my tongue in cheek comment suggests they all want to have sex with you. Some of them just hide it better.
I have several close male friends. However, they are either former boyfriends or men who wanted more. In the cases where that never happened, a fondness for one another evolved into friendship.
It reminds me of a line in the movie, delivered by Billy Crystal in When Harry Met Sally.
"Men and women can't be friends because the sex always gets in the way."
Literally yes. Think gay guys and straight or lesbian women for starters. Beyond that anyone that does not see the opposite sex as just a means to sex and/or dating can achieve platonic friendship as well.
Absolutely.. my best friend and I have been friends for over 25 years. You tend to see her as a sister and you love her the same way!
Yes. Though for some reason it is more difficult here in the US than in other places. At least that is what I have been told.
