Easter Sunday ... I go over to visit my brother. I see a tiny little bunny hopping around and then he finds a tree stump and hops on. Lucky me - I take a few pictures; it's adorable. Half hour later the bunny is dead. Killer was a cute West Highland Terrier; a pampered dog that got off the leash. I'm not blaming the dog; its the neighbor! Buys a dog & then lets the dog run and bark and do what it wants. Now making excuses that it was his natural instincts that took over. From what I've read, the dog wouldn't succumb so easily to its 'natural' instincts if she had taken the time & trouble to go for some dog training and maybe read a book or two by someone like Cesar Milan, the dog whisperer. Poor little Easter Bunny. RIP.

Put up a sign of warning. Keep out, violators will be shot. Shoot the dog if it shits on your lawn.

I just think this, I don't actually shoot neighbor's dogs even on my property. But when they are barking outside my bedroom window at 3am I do think about it.

Call animal control. And keep calling them until you get a response. Note the name of the person you spoke to and date and time called. I had to get nasty with our animal control 'officer' before he would drive out and take care of an unneutered, unsocialized, pit bull that kept crossing our fence where my boston terrier and grandkids played. The last thing I said to him was if something happened to my grandkids or dog he would answer for it. He showed up 30 minutes later.

Research some sonic cannon devices, operating at ultra-high ‘dog range.’ It appears you need someone knowledgeable in electronics to assemble or build some of the most powerful kits. Hear extended barking, flip the switch; if it stops, turn off the switch.

If your local law enforcement is willing and capable of getting on the owners, try that first. In my rural county ..the dogs have more rights than people! Our Sheriff told me to be careful, ‘if you piss em off,’ ‘I’ve know those type to go out and get even more dogs.’

Obviously, it’s the owners that should spend some serious time at the end of a chain, in a cage ..or a tiny backyard…

Couldn't be outside without my neighbor's damn dog barking and jumping on the fence. Left in the yard, it triggered mad barking throughout the neighborhood. It was maddening.

I mixed white vinegar and water in a spray bottle. Sprayed the dog with it through the fence. This infuriated the neighbor because he had to wash the dog.

"Dogs bark," the owner said lamely. He called the police. The City of Wenatchee has a noise ordinance.

To my delight, the dog went barking mad when police arrived. The police told me to stop spraying vinegar. They told the dog owner to keep the dog indoors.

It worked. He kept the dog indoors.

Now I live in a complex with no pets allowed. Blissful quiet.
