No, no it wouldn’t. And what politician wants to be responsible for putting wives, mothers and daughters to death because they choose to exercise their constitutional right to not reproduce? Apparently the conservative assholes in Texas.
The usual Texass crap. What is wrong with this state??? It seem the more we move ahead, technologically the more we move back asswards socially (at least some people).
The comment "state Representative Tony Tinderholt, of Arlington, said in an interview with the Observer that, if passed, the bill would reduce the number of pregnancies “when they know that there’s repercussions.”." made no sense.
What about the men who support a woman's abortion? shouldn't they also be 'punished'? And, of course there was no mention of family planning. Of course that will come next. Right now the Supreme COurt has legalized abortion and has upheld several cases of attempts to make things harder for women so these people are being premature. I think the prevalence of tRumps, Hitlers and other pinheads (like the legislator who is proposing this bill) show the extreme need for more abortions.
And, of course, this keeps the politicians from having to deal with their economy:

News that 42% of Texas households are making less than the cost of living.
So, about these alleged death threats you're getting... are pro-choice advocates really that angry? Sounds like a publicity stunt. The only death threats I've ever heard about are the ones providers get from the "pro-life" people.
Then there's this gem...
“'I’m not saying, I’ve never said, and the bill doesn’t say that abortion will be abolished and illegal,” he said. “We call it that bill, but the bottom line is this: we’re just changing criminal penal code and statutes.'” (But the bill is titled the "Abolition of Abortion in Texas Act". So it does in fact say it will be abolished.)
Right... it's not going to be illegal, you'll just be charged with murder if you have one. Say WHAT?
It is strange to me that is in his mind strictly WOMEN who need to be "more responsible" -- as if men had no role to play and certainly no price to pay for making anyone pregnant. So it goes with patriarchy.
Maybe he's going with his personal experience. He had just a small part to play. If you get my drift.
A small, small part.
I don't understand why they think this would make it through the courts if it actually passed. Stupid.
Exactly, it’s supposedly protected by the Supreme Court.
@Green_eyes They spend way to much time in the Texas Legislature on bullshit like this instead of actually governing.
@Aryn Roberts would be the swing vote with the Dems. It is his name on the court, and his name for posterity. I don't think he wants the Roberts Court to go down as the court that took away women's rights. There have already been a couple of decisions he has sided with the liberal side of the court. We will see.
LOL...One more law to blame women....Hee, is like men don't have anything to do with women getting pregnant. Reminds me of that senator who said Ïf a woman doesn't want to become pregnant her body activates a mechanism to prevent her from becoming "with child". Gee, another one who doesn't know how the women's immunological system works.
Freaking incel. Naturally no word on male responsibility.
Didn't you know men are innocent angels that can't resist those demons known as "women"?
