Could you be with someone that is sort of religious, let’s say an apologist?

Sure, otherwise I'd be a virgin!

Religion or lack thereof is not the first and foremost quality I want in a partner or even a friend. We can disagree on a number of topics. Religion is not a deal-breaker to me as long as they are accepting of My Views

Religious? Yes. Every person I've ever dated has been religious to varying degrees (it should be noted that I'm a somewhat recent atheist), and most of them ended for reasons other than religion. Apologist? No.

I am married to a thiest, and I am agnostic for forty four years. She constantly gives crediance to the the cosmic god idea. It's all ok with me. As long as you are no threatened in your position things will be fine. If you feel you have to defend your position, then you might have problems.

I have a friend who says "I don't believe in organized religion, but I do believe there is a God out there." And she thinks that it's the Catholic god...and believes in miracles. But says she can understand my atheism. I couldn't imagine being in an actual relationship though.

Define 'be with.' Is this a long-term thing, or a one night stand?

An Apologist is one who defends the Bible or God Or religion or all three in Theoloical circles. I once took a class in Bible College called "Advanced Apologetics". We dealt with the Shroud Of Turin mainly because the professor was Dr. Habermas who wrote a book on the subject.

Actually, that surprisingly just came up... Apparently I can make an exception if our basic beliefs are the same. I'm not into the whole ritual thing, and the various names and stories are a bit cumbersome to me, but if that's doing something for him - as long as it all basically boils down to love everyone in a way that is healthy for everyone involved, that's fine.

I would say that an apologist is not very liberal in thiestic thoughts. I also know a couple of liberal theists and I still can't understand how they ignore even some of the "Jesus" sayings that are in their book.

Maybe. It depends where they fall on the asshole scale lol. I'm not going to be with someone who attacks my beliefs or disrupts my life with theirs.

they would end up apologizing full time

Nope. My inner asshole would eventually win out and I would end up going on some rant and blow it anyway. From experience.

nice to see someone in touch with their inner asshole
