I just started this site still trying to figure out how it works. Here’s an interesting question I think: would you rather promote science or combat religion? You can only choose one
Combating religion is taxing and can be depressing so that is a basicly why I'd choose promoting science.
My time is better spent awakening the awe of the Universe and all that governs it. I will never turn down a chance to see that light of wonder in a child's (adults too) eyes when he/she discovers something new, but have no problem at all with walking away from a heated discussion of religious BS.
Science will eventually win out on all levels simply through the reduction of places where the religious can slip in their gods.
Even with the choice to do both I refer to promote science and reason, they are the antidote to religion anyway. The value of opposing religion is that it helps increase the numbe of minds receptive to science and reason, and not gratuitously suspicious of it.
Promote science. It's the only positive choice.
Promote science as I believe thats the thing thats making people not believe.
I think we can promote science in a way that illuminates the contrast with religious thinking.
When I was young, I argued against religion. After sending a very sweet priest running from his office crying, I began promoting science. These days, I believe that what others believe or don't believe is none of my business, but still promote science gently.
I would rather use my energy to promote science instead of fighting.
Promote science. While I appreciate the need to sometimes combat religious activity/interference, hostility just seems to make them dig in deeper and push back harder.
I promote what I love!! I send out positive vibes so the universe will return them. You get what you give.
