Do you think an individual should be allowed to choose the race, gender, religious background, sensibility, and character of their therapist when deciding which therapist to seek?

Absolutely. The most important criterion for successful outcomes in therapy is that there is empathy and rapport between client and therapist. This often is enhanced by matching characteristics.

I actually misspoke. I don't want to digress. Do you think pharmaceuticals enhance empathy?

I had an online addiction and the therapist told me that accepting God would help me break it...end of that therapist...

Certainly. If I had a therapist, for example, I would not want one who was a god believer. You should pick the therapist of your choice.
