And I appreciate that while Stephen Colbert (the interviewer) is a practicing Catholic, or so he says, he always give Ricky Gervais his say, while politely disagreeing. Stephen likely knows many of his fans are likely atheists, agnostics, humanists and ex-Catholics.

I like Colbert, he's hard not to like but I wonder why such worldly, informed man holds to his religion. I find it hard to get my head around it (of course Colbert isn't the only one). And then I wonder how he reconciles having people on his show that take the piss out of his god.

@MsDemeanour I consider some of these people to be bridges, who help people on 2 sides of an issue (religion in this case) connect -- and also show by example that we can in agreement on many issues while also being different in our spiritual/religious paths.

oh he makes me giggle. Did you see his youtube clip of him reading about Noah's ark. That had me in stitches
