She will have immortality from her legacy of film and music.
Yes, I do. The first time I met her was in 1956. Dad was doing some show work for Frank Sinatra and crew, so we had occasion to travel to the Sands in Vegas. I met her there. She was a wonderful person. That came across instantly. Her husband, on the other hand, was a creep. Everybody knew that he was robbing her blind, well, he and Rosenthal. No one could say anything negative about Marty to her. Well, anyway, that was not a nice part of life for her, as she would find out later. The picture below is Doris Day and Lauren Bacall with Frank leaning in. This pic was taken at the Sands on 14 September 1956. She was so damned cute and I, a 16 year old kid, was instantly in love.
She was just ... too much. I feel sad.

@FrayedBear -- It's funny how you just know when someone is the genuine article, and that lady was one of them.
@evidentialist Sad though that she was conned & scammed.
I know she devoted most of the last half of her life to the care of animals in need.
I think she probably gained much more joy from that than the Hollywood bit.
