The latest issue of "The Atlantic" is out and guess what is the cover story?? [theatlantic.com]
Abolish the Priesthood.
I am a former Catholic until the 2002 Boston Globe article.
I heard others talking about how much of the "gay mafia" was out to destroy Catholicism, or it was just "lies from Satan".
Yea. No. And the cover-ups continue to this day.
Tax the church. Disband it.
And hang all the child molesters. At least let them go like Geoghan did.
the article starts from a wrong premise, to save the church...why save that retrograde, misogynistic, homophobic, and pederast friendly church? Abolish the damn church!
Unfortunately, it's not about the church but about the followers of the (s)creed. Maybe if they start to question the hierarchy they will question the whole sect. Besides, this would be one way for the Catholics to read the article. It's not always about us.
" We, the Atheists, the Heathens, Pagans, etc, can and do wield the Malleii Veritas often with great and precise accuracy, but should we all wield them together in unison then shall we see the Temples of Delusion, Discrimination, Lies, Superstition and Corruption, etc, come crashing in clouds of dust." - William Anthony, 2015.
That is quiet a piece. Ofcourse, I can easily just leave religion behind and never regret it. But, I suspect big changes will take time, in the Catholic Church, depending who ‘rules the roost!’ Pope Francis is a great start, but even he can’t move ‘heaven and earth.’ And, human nature being what it is, could find the next Pope, going backwards! The Catholic Church still welds enormous power in the world. That bothers me!
