Time to confess, if you wish, whether a problem with authority (perhaps nothing to do with religion) is at the route cause of your agnosticism.
I have looked into this as I have had a problem with authority throughout my career. I put it down to the family pressures imposed by my aunt and uncle a rather cold, hard Victorian attitude couple . This was a result of dire family circumstances in the 1900s, a forced childless, loveless marriage to keep the family business from going under. Consequently my uncle had much more authority over me and my siblings than my own father.
I understand you, I also had a problem with authority in my youth but it definitely had nothing to do with my atheism. I am an atheist because I have common sense and I chose not to believe in unsustainable lies.
My non-belief in imaginary beings has nothing to do with authority, as I have never really had a problem with authority. When someone in a position of authority (a cop, boss, etc.) tells me to stop doing something within their jurisdiction, I stop. When I'm in someone else's house, I follow their rules.; in my own house I follow my rules. Granted there are people in positions of authority who shouldn't be, but that is a societal problem, not a religious one. People, including clergy, only have as much authority as we grant them.

Yes, a lot of rebelling against authority has got us agnostics where we are. Basically we do not like being told what to do and this has prompted more logic and reason. Being brought up in an authoritarian household is the pits though.
Many of us are very deliberate with our decision to abandon religion. Here's what it took for me:
Wow, way to trivialize what is, for most people, a truly life-changing decision. Turns out they just haven't outgrown juvenile rebellion..............
