I remember someone posting something about Hasidic Jewish culture a short time ago. I recently ran across this, and found it rather fascinating. I never knew they weren't allowed to go to museums.
How can the authorities allow the 'non-education' of children ... sorry, but I am more in line with australian ideas on immigration ... when you come to america you adapt to american values and way of life and if you dislike those values feel free to seek them out elsewhere.
Very informative...seems like we have a lot of groups like this in the USA...the Amish come to mind...even some of the Evangelicals that home school work hard to keep secular information from their children...
I often wonder what Hasidic Jews think of their fellow Jews...? Is there any type of in fighting like the Christian relgion, ie. Catholic vs Protestant, etc.?
Thanks for posting...I am glad that the young man who went to the museum was awe struck with curiosity when he saw the dinosaur bones...a bright mind like that should be given all the opportunity to go as far as possible...
Why not museums? "graven images"? Or what.......
Yep...
