Bo BO
This is the story of Bo Bo...it was the first stuffed animal that my brother got when he was born. It was a brown bear made in Germany, where he was born in 1958. My brother carried Bo Bo around until he was probably 4 or 5...he had him on his bed for as long as I remember. When I left for college, Bo Bo was still part of my brother's room decor.
Fast forward...2012. My mom was old and unable to care for herself so I moved her in with me. My brother came to visit her often. One day, he showed up with Bo Bo...at least what was left of him. My mother cried and said it was time for him to let her and Bo Bo go...both were not in good condition.
I wasn't having it...I told him to leave Bo Bo with me.
My mom and I decided to pull a joke on him...we put some doll eyes into a tiny box with a scrap of Bo Bo;s fur, and when my brother returned, I told him I wasn't able to fix Bo Bo... I handed him the box of the "remains".
My brother screamed at me and got so upset..."You killed Bo Bo..", he yelled. I was the worst sister in the world...
I thought it was time to end the joke and handed him Bo Bo...the picture of him with his buddy speaks for itself.
My brother owes me...for life!
This is my dog I’ve had since I was six weeks old and the clown since three years old. Bozo turns 60 on Christmas!
Ahhh! The poor guy!! But all ok, nicely repaired bear, and you quickly ended the joke (hahaha). Yer funny, and your mom sure had a healthy sense of humor too. Nicely done.
Wow this is a pretty Cool Story. These type of stories a priceless I think
Priceless! Thanks for sharing. =]
Thanks...nobody better ask me to repair their stuff...ha ha ha
Such a sweet thing you did. I worked for Gund and was top salesperson in 2008. I loved my bears. I knew all their names - my customers had horror stories like yours. If a child lost their bear or stuffed animal we would hunt down a replacement nationwide. We knew how important it was to lose their best friend. Many could not sleep till we found one. I loved working for that company.
I did not know that...what a fabulously astute company to know how loved first toys are...I still have my first doll...
@thinktwice it was a family owned company for over 100 years. Unfortunately they were acquired by a mammoth gift company, Enesco and they leveraged the company, and let Area Managers like me go because of higher salaries.
@sassygirl3869 Money ruins everything...
Bo Bo lives! He's not evil now, is he? I've seen this movie...
What a sweet sweet story. The prank was funny but having the refurrrrrrrbished bear was WONderful.
Wow. And I thought I was bad for putting my little brother in the dryer and telling him it would be like an amusement park ride.
What a mean/nice sister you are!
yes...there is an advantage to being the older sister...ha ha ha
