I'm not a Biden fan, but if I were his campaign manager I would put him in a coma until next November. That man can't stop shooting himself in the foot.
Biden is possibly the front runner even with all his flaws because he is a moderate. Dems need the Independent voter to win the general election. If Warren or Sanders is the Dem candidate we may end up with another four years of trumps corruption.
Pretty much. It's NBC but a little data analysis bolsters your point.
@1of5 Thanks, I thought I was all alone here. Progressive socially and conservative fiscally. Dems identify 48% liberal and 48% moderate/conservative.
@rogueflyer I don't necessarily think Warren or Sanders guarantees another term for Cheeto head, just makes it easier for him. Remember, he's further to the right than most dem candidates are to the left, with a very recent history of showing just how fucked up that ideology actually is in practice. So even a far left candidate has a shot if they appear sane and have good debate showings against him (I think either Warren or Harris could get Trump to walk off stage mid debate just by refusing to be bullied by him, and they'd win just because of that).
Biden would be the moderate Republican / conservative Democrat the electorate seems to love, even if no one particular group actually loves them. Frustrating, really.
The thing I worry about with a far left candidate is getting anything even slightly meaningful through Congress. That's the main reason I didn't want Bernie in '16, he would have had major obstacles to any of his policies and would have a very meager list of accomplishments to his name, making him weak for re-election. Still would have been better than what we got, but currently I think it's easier to retake the white house in '20 than it would be to defend it with a low output pres (see Carter, Jimmy).
Anyways, we shall see.
I have always liked and appreciated Biden. He's last of the politicians with integrity.
But he is out of step with popular opinions held by the country today. He appears to be tone deaf and unable to adjust. Time to retire and act as a resource for up and coming politicians.
Yeah he has a history of that and the fake website from trumps campaign doesn't help
I think he's just a jersey boy looking for a fight. I'm sure his fists were balled up behind the podium during the debate. hahaha! I still like him.
Actually from Pennsylvania
@bobwjr yeah, but not from philly.... not sure how fighty the boys from scranton are.
He always has. If I remember right even Obama made mention of it during his administration.
it annoys me that he was always just shy of being the butt of jokes back in the obama days and now he's supposedly the democrat establishment's choice?? the guy is best suited to be permanent mayorial material. NOT commander in chief.
@JeffMesser I totally agree with you.
@JeffMesser What city would you subject to being governed by Biden?
@BD66 there is a little town in Colorado called Noname
