Given that just 11% of electricity generated is nuclear, where is the advantage in the long term production of electric vehicles that rely on non ecologically produced fuel? All this sounds great but what will happen to the billions of tons of spent toxic batteries in the very near future? The multinationals have the foresight to get future profits when everything else is depleted, what I ask is, will they pay for their disposal without poisoning our world and how exactly?
Wind, geothermal. Plenty of ways to make power . Not just nuclear.
It's quite literally a pick your poison scenario. But at least we get to pick one that has the least negatives in the hope of survival. What alternatives do we have besides changing our entire country away from a transportation heavy culture (which will have to happen eventually anyways, I think)?
