If you were brainwashed from birth to believe, its hard not to.

The Hebrew Scriptures told a lot about the Messiah.

According to OT prophecies the Messiah’s arrival would usher in the end of sin, the end of suffering, peace and tranquility, one creed and one religion, one kingdom and one king, the resurrection of the dead, the abolishment of idolatry and false prophets, the gathering of the ten tribes of Israel, the building of the future temple, etc. etc. etc.

But Jesus didn’t bring about any of these world changes.
So is Jesus a false Messiah? A false Christ?

Christians say that Jesus will perform all the Messianic world changes when he comes a second time.

But how can we have confidence that Jesus will perform with the second coming? What’s his performance record so far?

Has Jesus fulfilled any of the Messianic promises with his First Coming?
Did Jesus provide us with any prophecies for the benefit of mankind that he has fulfilled?

If you can’t positively answer these questions with substantial accomplishments that we can all see for ourselves, then perhaps you have faith in a delusion.

Suffer enough day-to-day blasts of "this is the truth!" and, you will believe 2 plus 2 equals 5. (Orwell, 1984).

If everyone you know and interact with since you could form a thought believe it , the question is why or how would you not.

People who accept religious nonsense were likely indoctrinated as children, the same as American children are usually taught to believe in Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny.

The power of Christ compels you.... Sorry not me mate. I attend an evangelical church as part of my job once or twice a month and so far I find the whole thing very silly. If there were a one true god (there are just so many one true gods, at least 42 of them) wouldn't it have many sons all over the world spreading the exact same message? Some daughters too perhaps...
The there is the question of why there in Israel Palestine? Why hasn't god sent anymore kids since? And lets look at Islam - It has rules which are based on sunrise and sunset. Fine if you live in the region where it was born, but pretty stupid once you live towards the polar extremes. Where I live, at this time of year we have about four hours of darkness. Not much further north and it doesn't get dark until August, then of course the opposite at the south pole.
If we use sociology to dissect religions then they are all too human based and tiny. I could go on at length, but getting ready for work carries me away.

As a potential historical character it is possible. Much was written about the fellow, but of course he disappeared following his zombification.
Was he the son of god, well that is just too silly.
