I enjoy wondering and talking about the human condition. If time seems to go by faster while enjoying what you are doing, then could that mean we are meant to get through the human experience seemingly as quickly as possible? And if so why?
Asking if humans were "meant to" get through their lives faster, and asking why, implies that there is a "someone" out there controlling things, having a "Master Plan," and that everything has a part in some Divine Purpose, which is nonsense.
WE are the only gods there have ever been. We are the ones that make things happen, or not..
When using the verb to mean it implies that the subject has some purpose.
If you can identify its purpose you may get close to your answer.
If I ‘get that’ (which I don’t always), I’ve wondered the same… When times have been ‘great,’ it’s seemingly flown by! Fortunately, I’ve a shitload of photos and videos of such times, but they blew by..
More recently, and just ‘thought about’ today … I’m beginning to harken back to when time drug along.. But, every miniscule aspect of it now seems both fascinating and ..priceless. As scary, lonesome, depressing or lost as those times felt, they seem to have had as lasting an impression on me as did the best of times.
I’ve never been one to feel ‘time’s being wasted,’ as each segment apparently has it’s unique value
We're not "meant" to do anything but live long enough to breed.
..that’s as brief and accurate a summation of ‘life’ as I’ve recently heard … I’ll attempt to remember it for my next religious encounter
and if we reject that reason for our being then we are deeply conflicted. cause WTF's the point?
@callmedubious there's a point? Man, got people making up all kinds of things about life today.
So, after grabbing as much joy and exitement as i could I came to the point where I had to stop, take a breath, consider the consequences of the next step. And now that I can see the end, I slow things down. I deny myself lots of things and focus more on the experience rather than the stuff.
There is great joy in taking deliberate steps.
..beautiful ~ Suspect I’m at the same place..
time is a construct so its' passage won't have any continuity. our perception of its' passage is relative.
