Pamela Smart says taking the blame won't ever be enough. Does anyone remember Pamela Smart? Living in NH just 2 towns over from me it was the trial of the century to us. Books, movies, tv movie all resulted from this older woman/student love relationship leading to murder. The NH Court System will never approve her release -even after serving 30 plus years in prisons. Anyone remember her?

She is where she belongs. For Life!!!!

I remember her. She was a graduate of my alma mater -- FSU. She got the sentence she deserved.

I remember the case. It was big news. All her youthful co-conspirators have been paroled. She may never get out.

I lived in Derry during that time. I remember seeing her car with "Halen" plates for Van Halen running around town before she got arrested. My kids attended the middle school directly behind the condos where the murder took place.I was always perplexed how those who actually killed her husband were able to get less time. They were teens but they still killed someone for speakers, if I remember correctly.

I lived in Merrimack and know Derry very well.

Was basically a contract murder

Her crime was terrible, but I often wonder what makes people do these things; what struggles they've faced and how we can never fully understand their reasons.

She was 22 at the time. Just a few years before that, she would have been considered a child. She's now 51 and has had almost 30 years in prison, thinking about it every day of her life.

Once she's completed her sentence, she should be set free.
