So, we can't indict a sitting president for collusion with another country to undermine the security of our electoral process... That law needs to be repealed. Our president should be held to a higher standard, and therefore subject to more legal scrutiny than the average citizen; not be above the law, as it stands now.
And, while we're at it, diplomatic immunity laws need to be repealed as well, as the same level of scrutiny should also apply to foreign dignitaries. But that law exists to keep from causing international incidents. I say that is cowardly bullshit and gives foreign dignitaries a blank check to come here and do whatever they please with impunity. That means they can (and have) literally get away with the murder of US citizens.
It is not law, it has been the opinion of the DOJ. Like the opinions of all the talking heads on fox somehow constitute 'news'.
There is what is know as the court of public opinion, this seems to be the basis of these operating procedures.
While this country has a lot to be held accountable for, not holding a president accountable for unlawful behavior sends the wrong message.
It certainly does!
I don't believe it's Law..as Mueller stated "in the opinion of the DOJ a sitting president can't be indicted"..Opinion being the operative word.
As for Diplomatic Immunity, it was always practiced and Codified at the Vienna Convention of 1961..
Well, then we need to force the DOJ to change their minds and indict him, because one cannot be proud to be lead by a traitorous criminal. And the practice of diplomatic immunity goes back to the days of "don't shoot the messenger"... however, it needs to stop. It is an open avenue for corruption.
