Today I was at Dick’s Sporting Goods looking at shoes when this tall, ugly white dude walked up with his wife and son and loudly proclaimed to the sales person, “NO NIKE!” She asked, “Why no Nike?”, he replied, looking dead in the eye of the black associate standing next to me, “Because of their political views.”
I’ve never rolled my eyes harder and I know his son saw it. I have no idea if his son was as embarrassed for his father as I was.
I thought later, wouldn’t be great if I interrupted as asked the woman, “Excuse me. Do you carry T-shirt’s that say ‘I’m a giant douche, size (look at the guy) triple X?’”
The staff absorbed it and remained professional. Big applause to them.
And his "color" & "beauty" were relevant how?
@Aryn your skin color is not, never will be, your "character", unless you are maybe David Duke. And "ugly" says much more about you than them, whoever they are.
@Aryn and yet here I am, calling you out on your choice of adjectives, because they are quite pejorative, and gratuitous, and here you go, 2 replies dragging in nationalism....hmmmmmmmm.........
@Aryn yes, and I buy them over all others. My problem is, the guy was indeed a jerk, but You stooped to his level. You could have simply described his actions, not gum thingd up with pejorative phrases...and you call yourself a writer?
@Aryn so you are saying you were in fear?
I have a lovely pair of pristine white on white Nike high tops, boys' size 4.5. They are my dress sneakers. Nike in big silver letters on the back.
Good for you...I will never go to Dicks again if they won't sell me Colin Kaepernick #7 gold&red shoes from Nike
