A little fresh fruit... a baguette... and cheese. (Sigh). A little chocolate to follow.
That is why I consider the French to be the only truly civilised people on Earth - they consider that sort of thing to be a proper breakfast (with the addition of a bottle of wine, of course).
Almost any cheese but blue stilton is good with me - eat a little almost every day
Can I just say... Episoisses de Bourgogne.
Mmmmm...I have a splendid blue cheese dressing recipe! Good on everything from apple pie to eggs to hot wings, etc. Who could live without that?
Please share it. I've been looking for a good one!
@Nottheonlyone OK...simple, easy, and DELICIOUS.
My mother's bleu cheese dressing (she ''wheedled'' it from a bartender at their favorite restaurant.) I've had to cut it down from the MEGA-GALLON size it originally made. You can easily double/triple it for a party. Make it a day or two before you want it.
1 cup sour cream
1 cup good quality mayonnaise
1 good-sized chunk of bleu cheese...usually about 4 ounces, crumbled finely
3/4 TBL worchestershire
1/2 tsp white pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder (I prefer a clove or two of fresh garlic, myself)
1/2 tsp sea salt
Blend well, until it's as ''chunky'' as you like it to be.
Store in refrigerator
I love this stuff on a baked potato, scrambled eggs, simply broiled fish, tuna salad, spinach salad, etc. Let me know how you like it, ok?
@LucyLoohoo Thank you! Looking forward to trying it!!
@LucyLoohoo Just made a batch, gonna let the garlic do its magic overnight, but it already smells fantastic, thanks!
@Nottheonlyone You're welcome! It's so simple and so easy and so GOOOOOOD!
But its better with wine. Always overdo it. Not!
try it with madeira - (port if unavailable) - much better than wine with cheese - purely personal opinion
great until you need to dispose of it from within your body. then it wants to overstay its' welcome.
