We must learn a lesson quickly, for there is not much time.....The lesson is that Lying makes us weak and the Truth makes us strong. We must stop all the lying; liars think that they are beating the system with their lies, but they are not..... The more they lie the weaker they get and that makes them compulsively lie even more.

So you would tell your wife when she asks that those pants make her butt look big... Let me know how strong you feel afterwards 🤣

Been there, done that, after a while they stop asking questions that they do not want to hear the naswer to.

liars aren't beating the system? if accumulating the most wealth is considered winning then i think you're sadly mistaken. unless you believe in an afterlife.

Accumulating wealth (beyond what is needed to live), is not that important to me, and I do not feel that we will live forever. The truth makes our lives much richer and more enjoyable.

Not much time for what? Propaganda, spin and lies have been the cornerstone of the social contract for Millenia.

What is so imperative now?

I wonder how many preachers know that what they are teaching isn't really the truth but do it because they think the benefits outweigh the downside. They couldn't make the money they make anywhere else because religion is all they know. As long as lying pays better it will be hard to beat.

You are correct, and I feel that a lot of people who work in the religious industry know that they are spouting BS.

Why isn't willfully lying to the public, especially by elected people, a Serious Felony?

This very point was raised a few months ago over the Brexit bus lie, it was decided that "electioneering" is not lying even if it is a flagrant and blatant untruth so long as the person or persons making the claim believe it to be true at the time and have plausible deniability.
This how our new Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Trump's buddy Niggle Garage's leave campaign got away with cheating their way to victory in the referendum, by basically claiming they were too stupid to know they were lying, because nobody told them and they didn't think to ask.

It should be a serious felony, maybe then people would not do it so much.

@LenHazell53 buncha dumb, crappy mealymouthed double-talk!
