Trolls usually say things outrageous just to get a response... And they do it repeatedly...

CB make a point that she heard, on the news, that it's been proven that people are hired to behave "troll-like" on the internet.

To prove her wrong all you had to do was substantiate your argument; or give in to the possibility, and concede.

It's what being agnostic implies; you "don't know" until proven.

So why stoop to attacks and name callings? Why the "ha-ha's" and "see below"?

Just man up...confess you're wrong...and move on?

You might just be one of the paid trolls that the news article was referring to!

@Cutiebeauty I read it through. It quoted "confessions" and "Craigs list ads" but that's not documentation. My conclusion? I doubt you can make $$ trolling, at least as an American.

I don't doubt that there are folks who do "troll"...but I honestly think they do it just to be supportive of their POV....or way of life.

Perhaps the Chinese and/or Russians do it for money...and the Intelligence agencies did confirm they did...they just never explained how, or gave specific examples. I take that back; they did point out things that were fake/fraudulent and posted by foreign paid trolls....but I just didn't care enough to even look at it.

So my take-away is

1. If you have a POV that's different from mine...bring it...but bring it with evidence, and no name calling.

Don't attempt to say I'm this or that (profanity/slut/whore/abuser etc) - don't even go there - that makes you lose the debate -by any debate team standards.

2. If you're confronting a profanity-laced name-caller, and they don't play by the rules...then just block them.

Block and report them (as I did (and I'm guessing you did ) with Veteran229).

They're stuck in their ignorant name calling strategy - that's how they were raised and they don't know any other way. They're most likely not intentionally "trolling" you....that's actually giving them too much credit...they're just angry that you're right and they're wrong...and they don't know how to concede.

@motrubl4u you checked into his military service? Are you speaking literally or figuratively? Do you have any information on him? That is a federal offense and I would be more than happy to report him to the proper authorities to see that he is prosecuted. I did not make the connection earlier when you mentioned Stolen Valor.
