The lengths to which Americans go for cheaper medicine.
..... a problem which doesn't seem to occur on other countries. Capitalism at its ugly worst.
Minor compared to others, but I find myself in the "donut hole" earlier & earlier each year.....
Lobbying should be against the law! It will solve so many problems, including this one.
Oh how I agree!
I agree!
End citizens united too.
Put elections back into the hands of the people.
@MissKathleen
Hmmm
I guess that’s true - get rid of the electoral college?
Hold all national primaries on the same day?
Publicly funded elections?
@MissKathleen Not in the US system. Where there is one man, one vote for all political positions government, as mainly practiced in Britain, then democracy is more true.
@zesty Hence the British system, where candidates stand for particular constituencies, determined by their population size as much as possible. Local committees for each area approve who will be the candidate who actually gets put forward for election That way people have a better chance of knowing their representatives. Unfortunately, there is not yet a residency requirement, so slum areas are not well represented.
Maybe the old Corsican system works best. The candidate with the least holes in his body is declared elected!!
@zesty A policeman who I came across sleeping on duty, tried to kill me. I was unarmed, but tackled him after being shot, got his revolver off him, then drove myself to hospital, pumping blood rather copiously.
This was in Kenya, in 1983. One of the many times I could have been killed.
I really must continue my autobiography.
@zesty Not as glad as I am! If we ever met I could you more.
