So yeah... Im thinking this list will only serve to create ill will between men and women rather than bring them together.
But I might be wrong.
I'm curious....how many here think this list to build a healthy community relationship between men and women?
@NoPlanetB lol, how can I be wrong...you literally agreed with me...i DO think the list was not designed to bring men and women together! It exists to tear down communication between them.
It doesnt matter what your trying to teach if you do it in a harmful way, at the expense of another group. That hinders not helps.
As a nonwhite person who has been a target of racism by three white people in high school I wouldnt want someone to create a list of "Ten racism prevention tips" aimed at all the white people at my school. I would be insulted that my personal suffering was being used to target a race. Such a list would itself be racist: The students who happen to be white are now being targeted only due to race - not their indivdual action. It also ignores the different kinds racism I see from other nonwhite groups. And lastly such a list would only serve to create a rift between people of my race and white people. Such a list would be generally harmful.
This "rape prevention list" is just as harmful. It's covertly sexist. It focuses on the rape of one gender, cis-women. It ignore rape of trans people, children, the mentally challenged, the elderly, the incarcerated, and of course men. Worst of all it uses rape to intentionally create a rift between men and women. I'll say it again: this list is harmful.
Perhaps it is you who should read it again. It should bother you if you care about doing things the right way.
@MakeItGood totally agree with you. I'm so shocked by the original post, I mean this shouldn't be necessary if parents would do a good job raising their kids, no ? It almost sounds like twisted humor ! My son is a 26 years old military. Some of them have a bad reputation with women. But my son never raped a woman, or been mean to a woman. Why ? Because he's basically a good guy BUT when he was 14 we sat together and had an open discussion about sexuality and RESPECT.
Sad, so gruesome there are people that could use it!
Unfortunately, it reflects the sickness of American society. I have friends from all over the world on my Facebook page, and almost without exception, the ONLY people who try to post any form of nudity on my page are Americans. This says a lot about American society . . . . and, I might add, Freud was right about the sublimation of the sex drive . . . . Americans are some of the most uneducated people in the world, and they wear it like a badge of honor. Then the idiots in Washington who like that, think that they can continue to compete with the likes of China and Russia . . . . Это абсурд и идиотизм!
