If you don’t know what the meaning of your life is, make me a sandwich because then at least I’ll have a sandwich.
Haha, this idea is the foundation of all religions!
Yes, if you have no purpose than i will give your life purpose. Your new purpose is to make me a sandwich. You are a member of the Holy Order of Lucas’s Lunch and what he ordered. The young disciples can get me chips and a soda

They would not only make the sandwich but also thank you for being gracious enough to have had it.

Funny but rather shallow for the scope of the question. Could you elaborate.

I would love to. I left it vague on purpose so it could be taken many ways. Because i think there are many ways it could be funny. And a funny point is better than a serious one.
But if we are in a search for the meaning of my meaning to the question of the meaning of life here is how the joke could be taken.
1 life is predetermined so, cog, shut up your thinking and get back to work.
2. If you ask you may not like the answer you hear.
3. My church/group will fool you into servitude.
4.i have a lot to teach you, at least lets talk over lunch.

I think number 3 is the funniest.
Here is my premise.
-The existential question is a luxury, people need to get their Maslow’s hierarchy pretty full on a consistent basis before they search for meaning.
-meaning is a construct of the mind so, it can have as many forms as there are minds to imagine it.
-many look for meaning in the same way they look to fill their other needs, eg caregivers, nature, society...
-in this search to fill this need they might conclude that filling their needs and helping others fill their own needs is the very reason we have a need for meaning.
-But that need for meaning also makes us susceptible to parasitic people who have wants. Wants distract from needs.

  • what the parasitic person desires goes beyond his needs, And he will fool force or destroy to fill his wants. He will create wars religions, whatever, it usually starts small but with success it always grows.
-The parasitic person becomes an entity that promises to meet everyones needs at each level of Maslows hierarchy, if only you feed the parasite what it wants.

I am writing this on my phone so it’s taking a long time,So if this is interesting to you let me know and I’ll keep writing more. And if you’ve stopped reading along time ago I’m not just right for myself. Haha.

@LucasfromGR were you high when you wrote this ? I agree to something though : religions act as predators to people in search of " meaning". Specially the Jehovah's witnesses. I escaped from there, but my mother still in this false beliefs system.

@Nathalie_Quebec I got asked to elaborate. So i did my best. I am no academic philosopher and was trying my best to share. But no, i was not high. Did you find the first part funny?

@Nathalie_Quebec J.W. are pretty controling from what i have heard. Sorry you had to be in a position like that.

A sandwich huh?

This is my way of saying life is about making your own sandwich first then enjoying it with others who have made their own sandwich or alone if you prefer.

@LucasfromGR Or be satisfied making everyone else's sandwich or simply refuse to make sandwiches at all.
