Are childless people more likely to be religious?
Being a deluded moron has no family status requirement, it is a condition open to all willing to embrace it.
I'm childless. It wasn't really a plan.
And it obviously did not make religion more appealing to you or you would not be here.
No data. I doubt childlessness drives many to religion, though it certainly drives many to pet ownership. But on the other hand, I would have thought that it could well be the other way round, since none religious people are often more environmentally aware, and many religions quite openly preach irresponsible reproduction.
"And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth." (Genesis 1:28)
Duh....that defines the Shakers who lived in celibacy towards their self extinction....child free women I know are all Feminist Atheists....as for the boys who don't want to pay child support their minds are behind their zippers bibles AND gawdlessness....what ever floats their sexist womanizing boats
I don't know... would have to find data on that... but my generation is having way less kids than the last two generations and we tend to have higher atheist/agnostic rates... so there is that
I would say the other way around. Many people with children feel incapable of teaching their kids how to interact, or feeling a great need for outside support turn to religion. Especially if they themselves grew up in that setting. Or they feel the need at some point to give the church the job of teaching morality which perhaps they themselves don’t feel qualified to do. Or perhaps the kids are coming home from public school with behavior the parent finds distasteful, so they hope a church environment will help undo that. In my son’s case, it was a marital issue that drove him to use the church to help get his family back. With no kids, it’s much easier to find other solutions or feel there is less to lose I think.
Why do you ask? Look it up.

I cannot understand why you ask this question, which I believe is unanswerable. Is it relevant ?
My thoughts exactly.
