Ok, not ALL their money was earned that way.
But the idea of these folks telling YOU "true believers" that increasing taxes on "the rich" will solve income inequality is ludicrous. But hey!
We all have our own mythology. Carry on. 👌😎

I think it takes those in power to change things. When sanders and other wealthy people speak up about the inequalities I think it can make a difference. The problem isnt no one should be wealthy, it's those who give welfare for the rich thru lower taxes and tax loop holes. And crazy changes like corporations are individuals.

Yikes! @athena blocked me...
Sorry to see her go. 😥

I think you're really confused again, Grandpa.

😜

@Athena
Regardless, glad you're back. I AM consuming prodigious quantities of Chardonnay..... for the pain....

@bigpawbullets

The most important thing is that the things you say make sense to you.

Drink up! 👍

@Athena
I'm REALLY glad you're back. 😎

I have to say that just listing a bunch of mansions and use them as an argument against “income equality “ is so tremendously simplistic!! I invite you to read this article and rise above sensationalistic posts.

Good article.

At least, none of these violated the EMOLUMENTS CLAUSE.

The source of the information please?

A man of few words and a disdain of punctuation!

Talk about hypocrisy! 🤪😜🤣

What I think is amusing is all the true believers here who think these folks are paying their "fair share" in taxes. I love that self righteous term!! "Fair share"... what do you suppose that means?? 😆

3

So, if I'm a millionaire, I can't fight to help people less fortunate or in need? Doesn't it actually mean more if someone who doesn't need to worry about money, wants to make sure everyone earns their fair share?

So, who defines "fair"?

@bigpawbullets

The point was about millionaires and now you've changed the subject. That was very naughty of you Big Dave. 😏

I asked a question... 2 actually. Answers please?

Now I'll answer yours, because that's how conversations go, in order to get anywhere.

"Fair" is subjective indeed. How that works is like this. Decent folks, with empathy, who also care about others, want to see people live good, happy lives and advocate for well being. Those who are unable to to do this, are selfish and self serving, lacking in emotional intelligence and unable to see the bigger picture. Societies work best when all their citizens have access to the basic necessities in life.

I was referring to people fighting to have workers earn a living wage and affordable, accessible healthcare. But usually. When there's no good answer to a question, one will flip the script.

Do see the hypocrisy in your reply and in this post? The wealthiest people in America don't pay their share of taxes (I took out the word "fair" ), which is a form of stealing from society... USING the roads, schools, banks etc. but not contributing to funding them.

That unpaid tax money is pocketed by the wealthy and builds a higher tower, ensuring these working people remain far "beneath" them.

I like you Big D. As far as Trump voters go, you are one of the more decent ones, but this post and your response to me are both obfuscating the real problems and doing a disservice to your fellow man.

THAT's how you answer a question.
😎

@Athena
Cute. I believe income inequality was the topic.
Who's Dave?

@bigpawbullets

Cute? That's just patronizing - you just don't have answers... and you know that post wasn't about income inequality. Nice try.

You still haven't answered my questions, Grandpa, but I don't expect you to... with you being, you know, a terrible human and all.

@Athena
Oh no! I'm a terrible human!!!! 👺

@bigpawbullets

Yes. You know how grumpy you get when you miss your nap.

@Athena
I blame this all on Linda. New workout regimen. 2.39 miles over hilly trails with day packs... 48 minutes. She's trying to kill me.

@bigpawbullets

That's what you get for marrying someone just like you.

@Athena
So, I think everyone is paying taxes based on the complex IRS laws. What would you change? I'd opt for a flat 10% tax on all income.... no deductions.

@Athena
But.... she's really cute!

@bigpawbullets

I think I'd change your proclivity to dodge questions and change the subject.
I'd also change your vote in the next US election.

@Athena
Unless the Democratic Party comes up with someone us conservative centrists can vote for.. its Trump 2020.....

There is nothing wrong with some people becoming rich, or being born rich. The problem is when the rich do not want to pay their fair share in taxes and game the system so it benefits them above everyone else. One role of government is to "promote the general welfare." This means promote policies that help everyone--not just those with money and influence. And, making money off of money is part of a gamed system--it is not about earning it via hard work.

"Making money off of money"....
Are you referring to the stock market?

@bigpawbullets Yes. And, it isn't that people other than the rich cannot make money off the stock market; but it is rigged to mostly benefit those with the most money to throw around. They can make money when stocks go up--and when they go down. And, it is been shown again and again that many brokers look our for their interests more than those of their clients. This form of "income" needs to be taxed at a higher rate than income earned from labor.

🙄
Note, however, that they are rich folks who are happy to pay their share in taxes instead of selling you a story where giving MORE money back to billionaires will “trickle down” to the rest of us .

You need to inject a few facts, here....

It's you again! 🙄

@bigpawbullets like a rash, baby!

@AnneWimsey
Anne!!! No way!!! You're one of the saner ones!

@bigpawbullets why, thankyu, thankyuvurrymuch!
