Im a waitress! i got a job
Woot! I hope it's with people you enjoy.
Thank you!
A pretty girl like you that gives good service would do great in the US. Do the Britts tip? I know tipping isn't done in some parts of the world. When I was in China my local Chinese friends got on my case for wanting to leave a tip.
I did hear the Americans tip a lot, The brits don’t actually tip that much, some do but not a majority of them do, I only think it’s cause the British are stingy.
@averykings Maybe , but waiting staff are paid instead of having to rely almost entirely on tips as in the USA.
@averykings Typical tipping in the US is 20% of the bill. If there are more than 6 people in a party it's usually added to your bill automatically. I've heard horror stories in certain areas of the southeast like Georga where they have really low minimum wage and wait staff make next to nothing. I actually favor a system like the UK where hopefully you would make a living wage. I believe restaurants in the US use tips as an excuse to avoid paying their staff a living wage. All the best.
@rogueflyer thank you.
congrats... may you get an abundance of tips to supplement your wages
Thank you, i hope i do too.
@averykings Remember not to accept any unwanted touching or groping or sexual harassment and ask your coworkers or higher ups what to do if such situations occur. I've read too many stories of waitresses dealing with harassment on the job. Having a plan of action is a good strategy imo
@demifeministgal Thanks for the advice, I actually finished my first day as a waitress and i was not prepared for how rude customers were.
Good going. I knew of a waitress in Texas years ago who made great tips and got lots of money. She was in her 60's but she believed in giving the customer the best service.
Thank you i do too.
Buy yourself a pair of very comfortable shoes.
I will, thanks.
Good for you. Get some comfortable shoes!
I will, thanks!
