Hi, new to Atheism. Well, newer-ish. Anyone have solid advice?
Remember that you're under no obligation to justify yourself to anyone, just as deists aren't obliged to justify themselves.
Google Humanism and Free Thought. It's rewarding searching for truth, no dogma.
Be firm with people. "I chose rational thought, not magical thinking," shuts up Christian zealots.
I have been an atheist since age 13 when I realized the Bible is just a book of stories written by men.
So, I feel comfortable telling people and listing my atheism on dating profiles. Two Christian men met me to try to convert me. They tanked.
"Martin Luther said there are no atheists!" one man said triumphantly, as if it settled the question. I laughed.
"I don't care what a Catholic monk said over 400 years ago," I replied firmly, standing up. "I'm leaving. Thank you for lunch. Goodbye."
